Cold & smoking

Can I help prevent my baby from getting colds?

Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to protect your baby's health. It passes your antibodies, chemicals in your blood that fight infections, to your baby. This isn't a foolproof way to protect your baby's health, but breastfed babies are better at fending off colds and other infections.

You can also protect your baby by trying to keep him away from anyone with a cough or a cold. Or ask them to wash their hands thoroughly before handling your baby or his things.

If you or your partner smokes, give it up, and don’t take your baby to areas where people are smoking. Babies who live with smokers have more colds, and their colds last longer than babies who aren't exposed to smoke.

Extracted from baby centre.

He asked me why Charis fall sick every mth when she is not in childcare. I found the answer when I was trying to find out more on cough and asthma for gregory. Bcos I didn't breastfeed Charis long enough and we have a smoker at home!

Arrival of baby Nicholas

19 April 2021, we welcomed our new member :) he has came to us as a surprised gift. I got to know I was pregnant last Sep, at first it came to me as a shock rather than surprise. Firstly I did not thought that getting conceive is easy, for all previous pregnancy, I have tried ways and means to get pregnant, and now I did not even try and I strike jackpot! Of course, baby equal joy!!! We broken the news to our kids and Charis even cried when she heard it. My pregnancy journey is not a smooth one, at 40 year old, I feel my body is not prepared and weak for this pregnancy. I have bleeding for the whole T2 and pelvic pain for T3. Basically i need more and more bedrest and because I get to work from home due to covid 19, I did not have to travel to work or request any medical leave. 16 April 2021, I am at week 37 plus 4days, during the gynae check, I was already 2cm dilated, I am excited. My inital plan is to induce on 19 April as I am worried that the fliud level will drop after week 38...

Kolby can walk @13 mth

Kolby started walking on his own a few weeks ago.. He is so happy when he can walk on his own to me.. I am so proud of him.
8 June 2015, the day Kolby come to my life. Cannot believe 1 year has past, just in a blink of eye, my kopi boy is 1 year old. Happy birthday Kolby! Mommy loves you always! Be happy and healthy! It is my only wish.  Oh my, I survived 1 year without maid! Seriously I cannot make it without my mother. 真的是世上只有妈妈好! 家 有 一老,如有 一宝 ! 很幸运,我有两宝!!! And I am also happy that I have breastfeed my kopi boy for a year and still going on! The amount I pump in the day is only half of what he is drinking in the day, I am surprised that I can nurse him during the weekend, and at night. It is quite amazing how our body works when baby is around. I read from online that there is always milk for them. And it is true! Another good news is I managed to lose more weight, from L size to M size now, I managed to wear back some of my pre-preggy dresses and tops. I still have a tummy to slim down before I can wear back my pants.  I will continue to exercise to make it happen.
